The outdoor industry loves its gear, and recently Blackcrows, Teva, Gregory Mountain Products, and Danner delivered some product news.
Blackcrows
Blackcrows is unveiling three new additions to its lineup for the upcoming ski season: Corvus, Octo, and Octo Birdie. Alongside these new models, Blackcrows is introducing a bold new graphic concept, “Steps,” which tells the story of the brand’s commitment to aesthetic innovation and excellence.
The new Corvus keeps its vigorous flex while modernizing its shape to be more playful. With a double rocker and classic camber associated with a slight pintail and directional profile, it gains pivot and therefore increases control. The construction has also been designed to reduce its carbon footprint, featuring a thicker wood core and fewer added materials. The latest Corvus retains its signature long radius and playful shape, ensuring greater control and comfort for the skier.
The Octo and Octo Birdie are designed to blend accessibility with performance, offering a unique experience for a broader audience. The Octo, with its 84mm waist and flat tail, is a ski with a classic construction, a longer radius, and is tailored for carving. It delivers precision and agility across varied snow conditions.
A significant feature of Blackcrows skis this season is the new graphic concept, Steps. This design employs bold and colorful chevrons as both 3D steps and a color gradient, creating a consistent and visually striking aesthetic across the collection.
The Corvus, Octo, Octo Birdie, and the full Blackcrows collection will be available at select retailers and online at https://www.black-crows.com/us/en/ski-collection/. Additionally, the Octo, Octo Birdie and Corvus will be available to test at Ski Sauvage events as well as at pop-up experiences across the U.S. and Europe. There is more to come with a full-feature Chamonix film piece on the Corvus with Sam Favret in November.

Teva
Teva, a division of Deckers Brands, announces its Fall 2024 launch introducing new functional performance and lifestyle products, rounding out the brand’s collection of year-round footwear designed for outdoor adventure. Following the launch of the Aventrail trail running sandal earlier this year, Teva introduces two new trail-ready styles: the Trailwinder and Ellwood Mid. Additionally, Teva is releasing a fall-inspired color update to the Grandview GTX, a fan favorite.
The Daily Explorer | Trailwinder Low
Light, fast, and comfortable, this athletic hiker propels everyday adventures with tiered lugs for traction on varied terrain, a NAVILOCK internal bootie for a secure fit, and cushy LITE-COMF insole for responsive comfort. The Trailwinder was intentionally designed to be the perfect low mileage, fast hike style that also provides all-day comfort. MSRP: $130.
Trusted Traction, Now Waterproof | Ellwood Mid
Building upon the first Ellwood silhouette, the new Ellwood Mid provides lightweight, waterproof protection with classic mountain styling and a durable outsole. The Ellwood Mid is a lace-up hiker that combines an abrasion-resistant knit and suede upper with a waterproof bootie and rugged Spider Rubber sole, easily transitioning from street to switchback. MSRP: $120.
A Fan Favorite | Grandview GTX Mid
A durable favorite from Teva, the Grandview GTX provides comfort suitable for casual day hikes, weeklong trekking excursions, and everything in between. A GORE-TEX bootie seals out the elements keeping feet dry, while a wider toe-box provides a roomier fit to tackle mileage on the trail. Stability in the Grandview GTX Mid is reinforced by a Universal Heel Lock System that keeps the foot in place during downhill descents, along with a Vibram Megagrip outsole for grippy traction. New for fall is an autumnal-inspired colorway fresh to this best-selling style. MSRP: $135.
In addition to the brand’s commitment to expanding its performance footprint, Teva continues to broaden its lifestyle collection, offering more closed-toed styles for cold weather comfort and style.

Danner
After three years of gathering data, consulting the experts and examining the science, Danner introduces its new Precision Fit technology. The fit is crafted precisely for women and based on the anatomy of women’s feet, including a narrower heel, wider toe box and increased ankle support.
Precision Fit aims to provide the best-fitting boots for women, because your boots should feel like an extension of you. Through the gathering of biometric foot data from over 40,000 women using Danner’s Aetrex 3D scanner and pressure mapping tool, paired with four internal fit tests, common fit problems with women’s boots were identified and addressed.
With careful consideration given to pressure points and the spacing of the metatarsals, the new Precision Fit shape has a narrower heel capture, wider width in the forefoot and a lower height increase from toes to ankle to accommodate the precise biometrics of women’s foot shapes.
Available now in four of Danner’s most-loved styles – the Inquire Chukka, Inquire Mid, Jag, and Sandy Ridge – Precision Fit offers a true-fitting boot for hiking, work and play, with wide widths available in select styles and, of course, Danner’s legendary durability.
