Backpacker’s Pantry, a family-owned maker of gourmet adventure meals, announces today the hire of Sarah Raizk as its new Vice President of Finance and Accounting. In this role, Raizk will lead and oversee the finance, accounting and IT systems at Backpacker’s Pantry and will join the leadership team.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sarah to the Backpacker’s Pantry family. We are a leader in employee fulfillment and environmental stewardship because our financial independence affords us that privilege,” said Duane Primozich, CEO of Backpacker’s Pantry. “We don’t have any investors and answer only to our planet, our employees, and the consumers we serve. Adding Sarah to the team helps ensure our 72-year legacy of doing so will endure,” said Primozich.
Raizk began her career as an auditor in public accounting, where she spent over a decade working with businesses in a variety of industries. In 2017, she began work as a finance and accounting professional managing the financial operations of organizations, which included having full responsibility for the general ledger, timely and accurate financial reporting, forecasting, liquidity management, internal controls, and audit preparedness.
“I was immediately drawn to the company’s commitment to our planet and outdoor spaces through its philanthropic work and its focus on sustainability. Furthermore, joining this team provides a unique opportunity to continue growing a successful business while participating, through our products, in activities that bring joy and fulfillment to people’s lives,” said Raizk.
Outside of work, Raizk loves calling Colorado home and enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, reading, and crafting with her three girls.
