Haro Bikes welcomes Megan Tompkins as its Chief Marketing Officer to craft the brand vision and lead global marketing activities as it expands its reach into new product segments.
Tompkins joins Haro with lengthy experience in international marketing and sales for cycling brands such as Crankbrothers, Specialized and Shimano. She led the editorial and sales teams as the Publisher of Bicycle Retailer and Industry News, where she was influential in communicating with the global bicycle industry. She most recently worked for Santa Cruz Bicycles as the Brand Manager for Juliana Bicycles.
“I grew up in Southern California and know Haro’s roots in action sports and in cycling. The Haro brand is uniquely positioned to resonate with riders crossing over from other lifestyle activities as well as cycling enthusiasts across all bike disciplines. I’m excited to share the stories behind our brand, our riders and our products, and lead the transformation of this heritage brand as it enters its next chapter,” said Tompkins.
Tompkins will work with Lars Hjort, Haro’s Chief Commercial Officer, to direct dealer facing and consumer facing marketing strategy and execution for the Haro brand.
“I am thrilled to have Megan joining our team of the industry’s best and most friendly individuals, and I am absolutely confident that she will drive our great brand forward and upwards on the international bicycle scene,” said Hjort. “Megan is an expert on all aspects of marketing — strategic, digital, go-to market, the list is so long. Megan will support placing Haro at the front of mind of dealers, consumers and bicycle fans.”
Tompkins lives in San Clemente, California, where she can be found riding mountain, gravel and road bikes.
