ODLO x Burton Snowboards are thrilled to announce the joint launch of their first design collaboration – The Slokar Performance Wool 200 base layer. Releasing October 24th, this exciting new partnership brings together the quality and performance of Swiss base layer experts, ODLO, with the innovative design spirit of legendary snowsports brand, Burton.
“We’re thrilled to have collaborated with Burton to launch the Slokar, the first snowboard-specific base layer in ODLO’s history.” said Kilian Breuer, ODLO product director. “By combining our distinct strengths – ODLO’s renowned seamless knitting expertise and Burton’s iconic design attitude – we’ve been able to create exceptional layers that deliver against snowboarding’s specific performance needs and inherent style. We can’t wait for a wider audience of winter enthusiasts to be able to experience ODLO’s craftmanship for the first time.”
With the brands united in their shared passion for snowsports and desire to elevate mountain experiences, coming together to co-create the Slokar was clearly a natural fit.
“On a personal level, ODLO played a vital role at a very early stage of my life when I was a kid growing up in a Swiss mountaineering family,” explains Adrian Margelist, Chief Brand Officer of Burton. “Every Christmas we got a new base layer kit from ODLO and a season pass for the local mountain, so we were equipped for the season. Now over 30 years later, I’m excited and honoured to have the opportunity to combine ODLO, the pioneering brand in seamless knit, with Burton, the pioneering brand in snowboarding. The result is an amazing performance kit for the next generation of shredders and every mountain enthusiast out there.”
