The Outdoor Market Alliance (OMA), a collective of 25 independent sales and marketing agencies representing over 175 brands in the outdoor and active lifestyle markets, has announced the Outdoor Lab Foundation as the recipient of its 2023 annual giving. Since its founding in 2022, the OMA has made a commitment to supporting community initiatives through its non-profit association, dedicated to supporting the next generation of outdoor industry professionals. Members of the OMA selected the Outdoor Lab Foundation by majority vote and will present a $20,000 donation to support their outstanding outdoor youth programs.
The OMA intends to partner closely with its annual gift recipients, providing resources, support and connections that last beyond the initial donation. Through educational and leadership speaker series, brand partnerships, and networking opportunities, the OMA is creating a future potential job pipeline for young people interested in careers in the outdoor industry.
“We’ve had a vision since our inception to serve our community, and Outdoor Lab Foundation received an overwhelming vote from our members to receive this donation,” said Steve Copeland, founding member of OMA. “Outdoor Lab is doing great work, and, as an organization, meets our selection criteria for local impact, industry impact, and commitment to diversity, inclusion and environment. We’re thrilled to have this opportunity to help fuel their programs for more kids to have these memorable and often life-transforming outdoor experiences.”
“The Outdoor Lab program has enhanced the quality of life for generations of Jefferson County youth and has impacted thousands who still reflect fondly about their time in our programs,” said Bryan Martin executive director of the Outdoor Lab Foundation. “We are honored by OMA’s leadership gift and partnership this year. Their support of Outdoor Lab ensures more kids can access the inspiring and regenerative effect of nature, the thrill of hiking a mountain trail, the excitement of catching a fish, the joy of viewing a star-filled sky, and the friendship of a caring mentor.”
The OMA will present a donation check to Outdoor Lab Foundation at its upcoming media show, July 26-27, 2023 at its Lakewood, Colorado headquarters.
