Rab and Lowe Alpine, industry leaders in merging the development of quality outdoor gear and apparel with sustainability and environmental awareness, announced today that it has named Ross Herr to the company’s new position of Vice President of U.S. Sales, putting a proven industry veteran in charge of the companies’ sales direction in the United States.
Herr joins the Rab and Lowe Alpine team after spending the past two years as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Oberalp Group, the European giant which owns leading outdoor brands Salewa, Dynafit, Pomoca, Wild Country, Evolv and LaMunt.
Herr spent a total of eight years working in various sales and marketing positions with the Oberalp Group out of the company’s Colorado office, most recently as Director of Sales and Marketing.
He steps into a brand new role with Rab and Lowe Alpine, and their parent company, Equip.
Herr will be tasked with deepening Equip’s connections to specialty retailers in the United States, developing key account relationships, and leading an expansive team of independent sales representatives.
“Over the last several seasons, Equip USA has experienced strong growth. In order to continue our momentum, we require an accomplished sales leader with a broad range of hardgoods and softgoods experience, as well as deep product, sales and marketing expertise,” said Adam Chamberlain, US Country Manager at Rab and Lowe Alpine. “Ross is the perfect fit for our next phase of development in the US. We are especially excited for his energy, demonstrated success with big objectives and we look forward to getting to work.”
Herr is a Colorado native and will work out of the company’s office with Chamberlain in Louisville. He will officially start his position on Aug. 28.
“I’m excited to join Equip USA and lead the sales team for Rab and Lowe Alpine. I’m looking forward to working closely with their strong, existing sales reps and retailer partners to better understand their needs, explore opportunities for growth and help us all adapt and evolve through the changing sales cycle in this post-Covid era,” Herr said. “Naturally, product is king to me and I’ve always been impressed by the dedication to innovation and obsession for quality that Rab has demonstrated. Equip’s drive to continuously push boundaries, be a steady partner and build apparel and gear that enables end consumers to create unparalleled experiences is something I’m eager to contribute to and be a part of. “
