Skida and U.S. Ski & Snowboard are proud to announce a partnership for the 2022-23 winter season. Skida has long been connected to U.S Ski & Snowboard through Skida’s Athlete Collaboration Program, supporting several athletes over the years. They are excited to bring their partnership to the next level this season with Skida as an official licensee of U.S. Ski & Snowboard, representing four athletes through Skida’s long-standing athlete program – Paula Moltzan, Ryan Cochran-Siegle, Hannah Soar and Julia Kern.

Skida Headwear & Accessories, founded by Corinne Prevot in 2008, has deep roots in the ski community. Prevot founded Skida while attending Burke Mountain Academy and pursuing ski racing, which is where her inspiration for the whimsical and iconic Skida Nordic Hats originated. In the winter of 2008, Corinne Prevot picked up some patterned stretch fabrics at the May Store in Lyndonville, Vermont and made hats for her cross-country ski teammates and friends at Burke Mountain Academy. Soon the demand for her colorful hats grew, as did the variety of prints. As the buzz snowballed beyond the New England ski community, new products joined the line to keep everyone warm and colorful.
“Growing up in an elite athletic environment at Burke Mountain Academy, I was always inspired by the athletes who trained in the same spaces, whether older (Liz Stephen) or younger (Mikaela Shiffrin),” said Corrine Prevot. “I saw firsthand how much went into a year-round pursuit to get to the World Cup, which inspired our first athlete collaboration in 2009 with Liz Stephen. She picked out a unique print and a portion of its proceeds funded a summer training camp in Europe.”
As Skida grew, Prevot looked for ways to connect with the community where Skida grew its roots and created their Athlete program. The program began through supporting one nordic skier – a Vermont local and friend of the brand, Liz Stephen, who competed on the U.S. Cross Country Ski Team for more than a decade. Skida now supports athletes in many disciplines – with four of the five athletes in the program being U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team athletes. The goal of the program is to provide athletes meaningful support that can help fund training, travel and other expenses. Through Skida’s involvement with many U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team athletes over the years, the opportunity to become a formal partner of the organization felt like a perfect fit.
“This partnership with the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team was rooted in this long-term connection with the athletes and now allows us to further partner with different aspects of the team,” said Prevot. “For example, clad in U.S. Ski Team logos, our new Neon Waves print was selected for the cross country coaches on the sidelines so their athletes can spot them in the feedzone and alongside the course!”
“U.S. Ski & Snowboard is proud to partner with such an authentic Vermont brand that supports athletes every step of the way,” said Tom Horrocks, U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s Director, Commercial Partnerships. “Most importantly, we’re excited to share in the athletic success of Julia, Paula, Ryan and Hannah as they compete on the FIS World Cup Tour and set their sights on the 2023 FIS World Ski Championships.”
Skida has launched four athlete collections thus far this year with US Ski Team Atheltes including Paula Moltzan’s latest #thepaulaproject print, Berry Patch, Ryan Cochran-Siegle’s RCS Collection, Ginny’s Way, Julia Kern’s #juliasjourney print, Sun Dial, and Hannah Soar’s print, Galaxy Groove.
