Swedish glove brand Hestra recruited James Hampton to lead its North American growth strategy as its new president, Nortth America, based in its regional headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
Hampton was previously at Cotopaxi for nine years before leaving to launch a consultancy, according to LinkedIn. As Hestra’s president, North America, he’ll be focused on expanding across all product categories, including sport, dress, and professional gloves, in the U.S. and Canada, according to a press release.
“We are excited to welcome James to the Hestra team,” said Hestra CEO Anton Magnusson in a statement. “With his extensive background in commercial roles within the outdoor sector, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will be critical to our growth.”
Hampton praised Hestra’s focus on quality and performance in a statement.
“As a long-time user and supporter of their products, I am thrilled to take on this role,” Hampton said. “I look forward to contributing to the company’s growth and further expanding its presence in the North American market.”
Hampton replaces Dino Dardano, who is retiring but will remain an advisor through the winter.
“On behalf of the entire Magnusson family, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dino for his remarkable efforts in establishing Hestra as the leading glove brand in the U.S. snowsports market,” Magnusson said.
“James will build on that legacy while also enhancing our market share in spring and summer sports, casual wear, and professional applications. Dino will always have a place at our table, and we wish him and his family all the best as they embrace a more relaxed lifestyle.”
