The new sourcing show debuting this summer alongside Outdoor Retailer is designed to showcase the suppliers who are key in pushing innovation forward for the industry.
Outdoor Design + Innovation (ODI) is bringing in suppliers of raw materials and businesses highlighting the latest manufacturing and sustainability technology at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 17-19.
Exhibitors and suppliers at ODI will include domestic and international suppliers of raw materials – textiles, fabrics, fibers, insulations, finishes, fastenings, composites, coatings, and product hardware.
“The sourcing side of outdoor recreation is such a critical part of product development, and we are very proud to be representing the best in innovation and trends on the show floor at ODI,” said Lindsay Hubley, SVP sports & outdoor at Emerald, the parent company of Outdoor Retailer and ODI.
This is all in line with OR’s efforts to reinvent the experience for buyers, exhibitors, and attendees at Outdoor Retailer Summer. The show organizers are also offering a more extensive hosted buyer program and presenting a new booth and pricing structure, among other changes.
“The outdoor industry is known for its next-generation fabrics and components, the latest sustainable and technical materials, and new technologies that shape how products across industries are designed and brought to market,” said Jeff Davis, Emerald group vice president. “ODI offers more opportunities for product designers and developers to better understand emerging trends and best-in-class sourcing solutions, and it creates a streamlined business environment for focused conversations.”

New Leadership
As a part of ODI’s overall brand-building strategy, the show has brought in veteran Trish Concannon as show director. Concannon was most recently with Sourcing at Magic.
“Trish brings with her vast experience in attendee development, education curation, and overall strategic guidance in what to offer our customers as a part of the ODI platform,” Hubley said.
Ryan Yelverton also recently joined the ODI team as an account executive.
Yelverton spent more than six years at Ironman, with his most recent post as manager of expo sales – global partnerships, North America.
Hubley pointed out that Yelverton is an avid runner, loves the outdoors, and “makes a great complement to our Outdoor Retailer sales team members.”
Interested ODI exhibitors can contact Yelverton here.
Dedicated education for the sourcing community will take place in the Trend + Design Center, which is the education stage that’s located in ODI.
Show hours for ODI are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Day 1 and Day 2, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Day 3. There are no restricted hours like the buyer hours on the OR side.
