Overland Expo will host its first Buyer Summit May 15-16 in conjunction with Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The trade-only summit will offer programming, networking, and education sessions designed for North American buyers.
Attendees will hear from industry experts about relevant consumer trends, product highlights including technology, hardgoods and soft goods as well as see the latest in automotive advances, according to a news release.
“With overlanding participation exploding in the U.S., the Buyer Summit enables retail decision makers to have the best possible data at their fingertips to leverage this trend in order to drive sales,” said Jessica Kirchner, vice president of consumer events for Emerald, owners of Overland Expo.
Guests will experience two days of cross-industry business networking, workshops and a matchmaking platform pairing manufacturers exhibiting at Overland Expo West with buyers, she added.
“Staging this new industry event at the same venue of the world’s most respected consumer overlanding gathering only strengthens the overall community,” Kirchner said.
Industry Trends and Information
In addition, the Buyer Summit will include a base of automotive aftermarket buyers and a new group of outdoor recreation industry professionals, according to a release.
“This meeting will enable buyers and brands to discuss industry trends, exchange information about best practices, and look at solutions for increasing participation,” said Paul May, founder of Equipt Expedition Outfitters in Salt Lake City.
“Hosting this new event just ahead of the consumer portion enables attendees to share their learnings with overlanding enthusiasts immediately.”
The schedule for the Buyer Summit at Overland Expo West includes:
- May 15: Welcome dinner, networking opportunities and campfire stories.
- May 16: Education sessions and tailored content for retail buyers and distributors. Topics will include: merchandising, ecommerce, and market research including demographics of the overland consumer.
