Snowy Mountains born mountain bike clothing brand, Norman, has revealed their new range of versatile and sustainable biking gear: the Downhill Series. The sustainably made range comprises jerseys, shorts and pants for male and female riders of all sizes, in Norman’s signature approach which combines support and utility with a modern, minimalist aesthetic.

The Downhill Series range is made from sustainably sourced fabrics, including a high-function poly/nylon blend made from recycled ocean plastic, and are manufactured by sustainable and ethically approved producers. In an effort to promote mindful consumption and reduce industry waste, Norman also offers repair services on all their products.

The new Downhill Series Pants and Downhill Series Shorts have been created with inbuilt recycled neoprene padding – a unique design element often lacking from mountain biking apparel, and particularly appealing to downhill riders. While protection is often considered necessary for riders of all skill levels, this kind of protection is usually sold separately and worn as a completely different item.

The Downhill Series Gravity Jerseys provide riders with temperature regulation for long climbs and fast runs from top to bottom. A light, long-sleeve jersey constructed from breathable material, the jerseys are moisture-wicking, antibacterial, sweat resistant and highly durable. The jerseys even come with a 10cm invisible zipper pocket on the left-side sleeve for your park pass.

Designed in Australia using premium fabric, every item in the Downhill Range has been designed to give riders ultimate movement and flexibility on the bike. The high performance fabric meets the needs of mountain bikers of any ability: in styles perfect for challenging downhill days.

“Norman was founded on the principle that function, style and environmental consciousness don’t have to be mutually exclusive. We wanted to bring riders the option; an opportunity to buy gear that was both technically effective and, most importantly, green,” explains Jacinta Timmins, Norman co-founder.

With a focus on inclusivity, Norman’s apparel is available in sizes that make riders of every body shape feel confident and comfortable on and off the trail. Norman’s commitment to preserving the planet also extends to a carbon neutral approach, through their partnership with Keep It Cool, a Snowy Mountains-based not-for-profit which works to offset carbon production through community tree-planting initiatives.
